Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a rarer 1920's / 30's era Stromberg microphone manufactured in Rochester, NY which was called a "candlestick". It comes with it's stock black painted finish and a 4 foot cable. I honestly don't know which model this is nor do I know anything about these microphones? It's possibly a carbon mic but I haven't opened the head of the mic up so I have no idea?

These early mics are not my specialty but this will make a beautiful prop or display piece anywhere it's display. The mic has been tested and does not work. I'm not sure that any mic from this era would but who knows?

I don't know much about Stromberg Carlson other than they sold a ton of electronics equipment back in the day and they were based out of Rochester, NY. They sold several of their own unique models but often sold other mics under the Shure license.

This is a larger mic with a built in stand and while it's 11 inches tall X 5 1/4 inches wide it's fairly lite weight. This mic is an all metal construction that's very rugged and has the push to talk mechanism on the side to the handle to activate the mic. A very classy design and a unique part of early American mic history.

The mics head was not intended to move. It's fixed in place and the height is not adjustable.

This mic is a pretty nice example overall. It's free of any dents or fractures and has just tiny paint chips on the finish. The bottom of the base shows the most wear but otherwise the mic is quite nice and I would rate it an conservative 7 + cosmetically on a scale of 1 - 10. Many would rate higher.

The mic comes with the 4 foot cable in which to operate. It's soft, pliable and free of damage with the old male 1/4 inch end connector as well.

If you want something to display on the shelf or table at work, the studio or home this will certainly do the trick.

As with all my vintage microphones for sale...
