Sivori 7/8 Pernambuco Cello Bow Mid 1900s

This 7/8 size cello bow is a SIVORI stamped pernambuco bow which has silver winding, nickel screw, and ebony frog with mother of pearl eyes. It features the letter R inscribed inside a diamond shape at screw-end of bow on players side And “W. GERMAN“ on the bottom of the bow behind the frog (W is hidden by the frog in the pictures).

The silver winding and nickel screw are tarnished which is typical for the age of the bow. The screw has more resistance than normal but is functional. The leather wrapping is partially unwrapped. Some bow hairs have been previously damaged and removed as evident by the hanging end hairs at the tip and frog. Bow hair is slightly discolored near tip and frog. The stick has some old resin and/or wear mostly at mid-length. It likely requires some clean up of the metal tarnish, old resin on the stick and/or stick varnish, adjustment of the end screw and possible rehairing.
