The PreSonus Quantum HD 8 gives you the next generation of studio connectivity. Featuring eight PreSonus XMAX HD mic preamps, the Quantum HD 8 provides up to 75dB of gain, +18dBu of headroom, and an impressive -127dBu EIN. The Quantum HD 8 features a high-bandwidth USB-C connection, allowing for up to 32x26 simultaneous I/O. On the digital side, you get 16 channels of ADAT I/O, stereo S/PDIF I/O, word clock I/O, and MIDI I/O. What's more, the Quantum HD 8 also features hybrid DSP — a mix of onboard DSP for zero-latency monitoring and native DSP plugins for your DAW.

At first glance, the Quantum HD 8 may look like its predecessors, but once you start using it, you'll immediately notice the differences. For starters, the Quantum HD 8 is a massive leap forward with onboard DSP that takes care of monitor mixing without any latency. It also makes it possible to use Native DSP plugins from your DAW — a hybrid workflow that opens up tons of opportunities. The front panel is all new, featuring dual-color LED rings around each gain knob and built-in talkback. It all adds up to an interface that sounds excellent and is a joy to use.

XMAX HD preamps deliver pristine audio

One of the most significant upgrades to the Quantum HD 8 is its new XMAX HD preamps. These newly designed Class-A discrete mic preamps are easily on par with outboard boutique preamps, with pristine resolution and clarity that will impress even the most jaded studio engineers. You get 75dB of gain to handle the most demanding ribbon and dynamic mics, with a super-low -127dBu EIN for quiet recordings. Combined with the Quantum HD 8's class-leading converters, you can rest assured that your audio is being captured with incredible detail.

Hybrid DSP powers zero-latency monitoring and native plugins

The Quantum HD 8 is the first interface to feature PreSonus' new hybrid DSP. This system combines DSP resources for zero-latency monitoring directly from the Quantum HD 8 itself, plus native DSP that puts additional plugin processing in your DAW without taxing your computer's CPU. Using the UC Surface control software, you can assign different mixes to all of your outputs, including two headphone outputs.

Extensive digital I/O for studio integration

The Quantum HD 8 includes a huge range of digital I/O for easy integration into any studio. You get 16 channels of ADAT I/O, plus stereo S/PDIF I/O. There's also word clock I/O to keep your entire studio on the same page. And with the USB-C connection, the Quantum HD 8 supplies 32 inputs and 26 outputs at up to 192kHz sample rate. There's also MIDI I/O for synthesizers and other MIDI gear.

About the PreSonus XMAX HD preamps

The Quantum HD 8's preamps feature a new differential Class-A input stage with selectable 48V phantom power and a 75dB gain range. They offer plenty of headroom, plus a super-low -127dBu EIN. That's enough gain for even the most low-output mics and enough headroom to capture the loudest sound sources with no distortion. Plus, the front panel gain knob LEDs make setting levels a breeze.
