RCI Starlite USA 250th anniversary 8x14 tribute snare drum. Only 20

Steve’s notes: This is a remarkable undertaking from my friend Romano at RCI Starlite. Romano has spared no expense to create a beautiful 8x14 snare drum as a tribute to the 250th anniversary of our fine country. Everything has been done with the extreme care and to the highest degree of quality. All handmade including the case and all the other items you see. There will only be 20 of these drums made. Since the snare drum was such an integral part of the history of America, it is truly fitting to create this incredible presentation piece. There is also a very personal side to the story: Romano’s great, great, great, great grandfather on his mother’s side was a drummer boy in the American Revolution, so this drum has additional special meaning. From Romano: RCI Starlite has celebrated its 25th year in Business and 25 years before that was the Bicentennial in which I saw my first acrylic drum set in transparent blue Vistalite from Ludwig. You can see what a big impact its has had on RCI Since our time in business. Well this year is very special to RCI Starlite because only a few know that our founder, Romano Cotone (creator of RCI Starlite) has many family ties that run deep into the beginnings out this fine country. Most notable of which is that Romano's Great Great Great Great Grandfather William Horace Nichols was a Drummer Boy in the American Revolution in the Boston Mass area. This is the biggest personal fact in Romano’s personal history that goes back to the Birth of This Great Nation.

As many of you know that RCI Starlite makes shells and components for other famous drum companies. RCI Starlite has made drums for famous drummers like Chad Smith, Jason Bonham, Tommy Lee, to name a few. In our microphone stand division we have made stands for Bono of U2, Phil Collins, One Republic, Judas Priest, Linkin Park, Van Morrison, LeeAnn Rimes and many more artists through the years. We never left America and still manufacture all of our products in the USA. We take care of our clients the old fashioned business way that pays attention to every customer’s custom needs.

As you know we only make a certain amount of special products each year but this year is extremely special. Romano's retirement is coming soon and wanted to get out this special drum that means everything to this great country, his clients, his family and his drum legacy.

In tribute to this Great Country we have come out with this beautiful America 250th Anniversary snare drum. It is all made in America at RCI Starlite . The beautiful acrylic shell is handcrafted one piece at a time similar to the way stained glass in lamps and church windows are made. This special snare drum has been a labor of love, designed and created by Romano Cotone of RCI Starlite.

The snare is set up with the handmade shell, specialty lugs that resemble the pillars of some of our buildings in Washington DC, a specialized strainer with RCI Starlite snare wires in 24 strand, specialized single flanged hoops, and a special RCI Starlite Drum head with the Spirit of 76 drummers colored on the head.

The snare also comes with commemorative box that is also hand made at RCI Starlite and made to heavy duty specs resembling storage containers used during WWII. The box is beautifully made in celebration to our 250th year as a nation with colorful graphics with an old trunk like feel in the interior and the outside of the box.

The snare sits comfortably within a fully protected padded interior. Also included is a special bronze eagle drum key also made at the RCI Starlite foundry. The snare drum also carries with it a special framed certificate of ownership signed by Romano and is set up with a special raised numbering system on seen on items from yesteryear that are on the box and snare. Included is a special set of Stars and Stripes Drum sticks, and a copy of the 3 most important documents of Freedom: The Constitution, The Declaration of Independence & The Bill of Rights. The Limited Edition RCI Starlite 250th snare drum with the commemorative box is truly a work of art.
