Provenance & Craftsmanship

Each body was made from premium lumber hand-selected by a boutique luthier, who personally sourced and transported the wood to a professional shop in New Jersey for shaping. Specifications were tailored to his own playing preferences, making them compatible with standard hardware while offering a refined feel and build quality not found in mass-produced bodies.For example, the Cap or top of the bass bodies is much thicker then 1/8th inch. (Often the standard in available bass bodies.) The thicker top allows for more complex tones and frequencies. A thicker cap also shows more of the beautiful wood grains from the side view of the bass.

This is a New Old Stock (NOS) unfinished Offset bass body featuring a Deep Curly maple top, a walnut accent layer, and a solid mahogany back. A three-piece build for tone and stability.

Condition

• There is a darker area on the back (see photos) and the surface feels slightly less smooth then some other bodies from this batch. Both are typical for unfinished flame Maple/ laminate builds and can be addressed easily during final sanding and prep before finishing.

• There is a small visible seam along part of the maple/ walnut join (see close up photo) This is a normal occurrence in older NOS laminate bodies and will not affect stability. It can be filled or smoothed during final prep if desired.

• very small impression on side of body. I actually cannot find it now to verbally describe it, but I did take a picture.

• Unfinished NOS body, stored in climate-controlled workshop. Excellent structural integrity with natural grain variations.

Certain models include vintage-style holes below pickups. The holes on this particular guitar are straight except for the Center. One seems a little bit raised. See the photos. It’s an easy fix if you need to slightly adjust the alignment of the holes.
