Up for sale is a rare piece of Gibson history: a complete, New Old Stock (NOS) set of mid-1970s Gibson 740XL "Rock and Roll" Ultra-Light gauge electric guitar strings (.009 - .037). This features the iconic "Black Box" era design with the script logo and red "The Professional's Choice". This ultra-light setup was famously favoured by legends like B.B. King during the era. Inside, you will find the original paper wrap, and the strings protected by the sealed clear plastic sleeves—dating this set between 1973 and 1977. The pack shows beautiful vintage character and is the absolute perfect era-correct "case candy" to complete the case compartment of a mid-1970s Gibson Les Paul, SG, or Flying V. I had help writing this, I have two cases of old strings, vintage to newer, looking to part with. I have 4 sets of these, listing is for 1 set.
