The real deal from 1963
Selling this one and knowing I will regret it.
An exceptionally rare 1963 Epiphone Olympic Double, factory left-handed. Essentially Epiphone’s take on the Gibson Melody Maker Double, sharing the same body shape, electronics and pickups. Same guitar, same factory, different logo and much rarer.
Left-handed examples are almost never seen, making this one of the rarest early-‘60s Epiphones you’ll likely come across.
An honest, well-played guitar that wears its decades beautifully. Original electronics and 1963-dated pots remain intact and fully functional, delivering the lively, articulate tone these low-output single coils are known for.
The bridge has been replaced with a lightweight aged nickel tailpiece, and the guitar previously wore Grover tuners. The face of the headstock has a light black overspray for reasons unknown, though there are no breaks or structural repairs as shown on the blacklight pics.
Frets show expected wear but play well. A wonderfully original vintage lefty with real character.
This guitar is a rock n roll machine. It screams !
