Guild Starfire IV SF-4D

A clean example of a Guild Starfire IV from 1981, with factory installed DiMarzio Pickups installed, hence the D in the name plate.

This is a highly crafted vintage USA made in Westerly, R.I.

The double cut/bound sunburst body is semi-hollow and is equipped with two humbucking pickups w/ respective tone/vol. controls, stop-bar tailpiece, and tune-o-matic bridge; body is in great condition w/ minimal wear/checking.

The bound three-piece neck has a rosewood fingerboard w/ block pearl inlay, 1-5/8" nut width, original jumbo frets in fantastic condition, Guild stamped tuners made by Schaller, Guild Chesterfield mother of pearl inlay on headstock.

Serial number is factory stamped in USA on reverse of head and model number stamped inside the F-hole by the factory.

Slight finish wear on top of headstock, very minor.

Original hard shell case with plush dark red lining still looks almost new, yet this case and guitar are now over 45 years old.

This guitar was well cared for and loved by its previous owner and has only had two owners throughout it’s life span.

Very hard to find Guild Starfire’s from this era with Block Inlays and a factory stop tail piece instead of the usual harp floater.

If you are a true Westerly, RI Starfire lover then this is a rare and beautiful example that does not come out of the closest very often.
