Sabbadius Funky Vibe Fillmore East. Handmade in Argentina by Nico Sabbadin.
In my opinion, the best sounding Univibe clone ever. Lush, gooey, breathing, almost alive. So much fun to play. Slam a fuzz face into and channel Band of Gypsys-tone for days.
Mint condition, includes original box and all documentation. I even have the replacement fuses still. 2024 version, in the original-sized casing. Serial # 1816
This is the US version, 120v.
From the Sabbadius website:
SABBADIUS FILLMORE EAST Special Edition Version:
When Honey UNICORD went bankrupt and production shifted to Shin-ei Companion, some 1968 parts and some 1969 parts were used together, resulting in the FILLMORE EAST version—a blend of the 1968 and 1969 units.
- SABBADIUS FILLMORE EAST Funky-Vibe:
According to some Uni-Vibe experts, this could have been the version Jimi Hendrix used between 1969 and 1970, while others believe Hendrix used a 1968 Uni-Vibe in the U.S. and a 1969 version in Europe. What’s clear is that if you compare the sound of the same song played in the U.S. and later in Europe (including England), you’ll notice that the “throb” and “wave” of the effect do not evoke the same “chewy” sound often associated with Hendrix’s performances. We discovered that the SABBADIUS FILLMORE EAST Funky-Vibe version captures that chewy sound, similar to the 1969 and 1970 Uni-Vibe units.
