1997 Breedlove C25/R Prototype

Up for sale is a 1997 Breedlove C25/R Sitka Spruce/Indian Rosewood "Prototype" guitar. Please note that the exact model info on the inside label reads "C25X/R Prototype" from the Steve Henderson era, widely known amongst enthusiasts as the prime era for the guitar maker. This particular guitar is from the "Guitar Shop Collection", previously owned by Steve Spellmen, a famous guitar shop owner who had a very large collection of instruments that were recently sold at auction. This particular guitar is near mint, in fact the only blemishes I can find are a few very tiny marks on the top near the bridge, probably from changing strings and such, and then a small finish blemish at the neck/body joint which you'd only ever see looking under a strong light and literally looking for the blemish itself. The guitar has been played somewhat but sparingly, and the neck has the expected "slickness" from play. The frets exhibit just a very small amount of wear and the guitar was advertised to me as "unplayed". Since I've owned it, it's only been played a handful of times and has never left my house.

The guitar is quite striking with the inlays and the purfling. The ivory binding has yellowed quite a bit, again as expected due to time passing, and of course the headstock bears the original styled Breedlove logo. The original hard shell case is included and also in very good condition with one latch that's slightly hard to open but it does function completely. No other paperwork is included.

I've owned many early Breedlove's over the years and they're literally the greatest acoustics ever made, in my personal opinion. The only reason I'm selling this one is that I have too many of them, and trust me, it's been a hard choice to figure out which should stay versus go.
