Summary: I bought this on Reverb and found that it did not work in my situation, although it does work
Gory details: My keyboard has two output jacks, square USB and round MIDI DIN connector. This PianoBox has only the round MIDI input. There is a square USB jack on the back, but this is for connecting other MIDI devices somehow – I'm not sure. Maybe it is an output, I don't know. But this square USB jack on the back of the PianoBox is NOT a USB host. It will not power your keyboard and will not receive MIDI signals from your keyboard. Anyhow, it turns out that the round MIDI output of my keyboard is broken, so the PianoBox does not work for me. I took this PianoBox to a local music shop, and they guy there plugged his keyboard into this PianoBox, via the round MIDI connector, and it worked fine. So if you have a keyboard with a working round MIDI jack output, this PianoBox should work for you.
You will also get an AC adapter which has been nicely modified to have two 9 VDC outputs, one for the PianoBox and one for your keyboard. The person who sold the PianoBox to me sent along a 12 VDC AC adapter. This is not correct since the PianoBox is marked as requiring 9 VDC. My keyboard is also 9 VDC. So, before realizing the problem with my keyboard, I bought a little 12 VDC to 9 VDC converter and attached it to the 12 VDC adapter, and added two 9 VDC output cables, one for my keyboard and one for the PianoBox, and spliced the wires as needed so that both outputs would give 9 VDC. I am electrical engineer and have been soldering wires for 60 years, so don't worry about the workmanship. It is good. Both 9 VDC outputs have the same round coaxial connector which is commonly needed for keyboards (It works with my M-Audio Keystation). One connector is "right angle" and the other connector is "straight", and one is 46 inches long and the other is 54 inches. The AC plug is for USA 120 V.
You will also get two 5-pin DIN MIDI cables, a reddish one that is about 9 feet long and a black one that is 6 feet long.
