Original Owner – Purchased New at Guitar Center Sunset Strip in the Mid-90s.

Up for sale is my rare, mid-1990s César Díaz Texas Tremodillo in the highly collectible blue housing with yellow text and black knobs. I bought this pedal brand new alongside a 1994 Telecaster at the iconic Guitar Center on the Sunset Strip back in the mid-90s. It has been in my possession ever since.

César Díaz, widely known in the guitar world as "The Amp Doctor," was a legendary Puerto Rican-born guitarist and master amplifier/effects technician whose work shaped the tone of modern blues and rock. He famously served as the personal gear guru for Stevie Ray Vaughan, keeping Vaughan’s heavily pushed Fender amps running flawlessly on tour and heavily modifying the iconic "Number One" Stratocaster. Beyond his definitive work with SRV, Díaz’s brilliant ear for analog tone led him to tech for and tour with rock royalty like Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, and Neil Young. In the mid-1990s, he launched Díaz Musical Products to share his meticulous circuit designs with the public, hand-building legendary boutique gear like the Texas Tremodillo and the Texas Ranger fuzz. Though he passed away in 2002, his uncompromising approach to vintage tube amplifier dynamics remains a gold standard among tone purists today. 

Condition & History:

• 100% Original Circuit: Never modified, never drilled for an external DC jack. It remains in its factory battery-only configuration just as César built it.
• Cosmetics: This pedal was gigged with and loved. It features a few small, honest paint chips on the front and back from stage use (see photos), but the iconic yellow text remains bright and fully legible.
• Includes Original Box: Comes complete with the original factory cardboard box, which has been safely stored away for decades.

This is a 100% authentic, untouched player's piece with an awesome backstory and the rare factory box. Perfect for the collector or player who wants a real-deal piece of 90s boutique history.
