Absolutely killer Japanese Tele up for grabs. I picked this up recently for a project that ended up falling through, so it’s back on the market.
This is a 2001 “Crafted in Japan” TC-72 Telecaster Custom. It’s a beautifully built guitar—I chose this over one of the recent American Vintage models after comparing them side by side.
The one negative on these MIJ models is the electronics, so those have been swapped out with a Fralin Wide Range humbucker in the neck and High Output single coil in the bridge. It has a full Fralin wiring harness, and the saddles have been swapped with stainless steel compensated Callaham ones that are a massive improvement over the threaded steel originals. The rest of the guitar is all original, and the previous electronics are included in the original gigbag’s pocket if you want to swap anything back.
There are a few minor bumps and bruises as you might expect from a 25-year-old guitar (see photos for details), but it looks great, plays great, and sounds great. I’ll be disappointed to part with it!
