Gently used mostly in a home studio. Awesome pedal. Looking to downsize my collection to make room for some other things.

So imagine the gain staging of the Balrog, an updated version of the sweepable midrange controls of the MT-2 and a foot switchable fixed tone stack of the HM-2… sounds pretty brutal right? Well, IT IS.

Basically it’s a high gain distortion with an active cut/boost semi-parametric midrange and "sweepable" frequency, active bass control and passive treble control.

The second footswitch kicks in a fixed HM2 tone stack but the other controls all still work, so in order to get it to sound closest an HM2, you have to dial the other controls in (cutting low mids, bass and boosting treble a bit) and then flip the mid shift toggle to the up position.

The point is not to sound exactly like an HM2 (it’s not a clone) but rather to have that flavor.

Although I designed it to be the ultimate DEATH/GRIND distortion, It’s perfect for any genre of metal including death, grind, black and doom but also hardcore, punk and shoegaze.

It’s definitely a distortion pedal for knob tweakers so be warned! The extra work to dial in the tone is worth it though. I’ve never heard anything like it.

The new MKII version includes the new "clickless true bypass" (or "soft touch") switch which uses a clickless momentary switch to trigger a relay as opposed to the standard mechanical method.

The SAURON MKII uses a hybrid of SMD resistors/diodes/semiconductors/ICs but with the important parts (audio film caps, rarer discrete transistors and some ICs) still being through hole.

The pedals themselves will still be handwired, only now they can be done much faster without sacrificing quality.

FOR BEST RESULTS: play the SAURON into a CLEAN amp or FX loop return.
