The Lanikai Tuna-Uke is interesting in that it attempts to solve the problem of intonation on ukulele by just..... having separate saddles. It's essentially a slightly pricier, modified version of the LU-21T ukulele that's still for sale if I'm not mistaken. The specs on alohacityukes.com say that the top/back/sides for that model are nato while the neck is mahogany, so that's what I'm going with for the specs since my knowledge is that they really only modified the saddle setup when compared to that model.
The action on this one is on the higher side, around 2.75 mm at the 12th fret. The neck is perfectly fine and straight, I just think the saddles were left high so they could be set up to user preference. Referencing the LU-21T, the saddles/nut should be nubone, so make of that what you will. The ukulele is in pretty good condition with few cosmetic flaws, guy who owned it previously just kept it in a hardcase for most of its life. Overall, it sounds pretty good, stays in tune, and looks and plays pretty nice. Current price is designed to be competitive with the other listings I've seen for this ukulele, but I'm open to offers, particularly if you live closer and want reduced shipping costs.
