Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a unique, quality Shure microphone  that rarely comes around. This is the 589S dynamic cardioid model microphones set at Low Z. These are quality, rugged mics that are lite weight and easy to hold for prolonged periods of time. The output is strong and very much a mid range sounding in nature. Bright and not bass heavy like an SM-58. This mic comes with Shure model mic clip that fits the mic perfectly and the specialized Shure mic pouch in which to store.

This mic was only offered by Shure for a few short years around the late 1970's to early to mid 1980's. I don't really know the story behind this mic but it was one of the better models sold over the decades. The mic is unique looking. Not the most attractive design but again, a quality build and it was made in America. This was the Unidyne C.

It's been a few months since I've even had one of these to offer and it's not the prettiest of mics due to physical wear but it works like new and will last many decades to come.

This mic could be used for broadcasting or singing if need be.  It's 7 inches long X 1 1/2 wide at the tip. The on / off switch works great too.  As you can see in the pictures provided there are typical signs of wear on the handle of the mic. There is some subtle paint loss and lite scratches here and there as well as a previous owners engraving that you can see in pic # 12.  The Shure logo that encircles the mic shows no wear at all and completely legible. No tarnish or dents on the front grill and I added a new interior foam pop filter for improved sound as the original was all but gone. This really helps with the acoustics of the mic and any mic of this age will have to have that done.

The mic comes with the original Shure Brothers mic clip that grip these mics firmly and it's in very nice condition. The clip provides a wide degree of tilt up and down and will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have.

The Shure black vinyl mic ouch is in fantastic shape and it will keep the mic safe from damage when not in actual use. As you can see there is no physical wear on the pouch and the zipper works perfectly.

The mic takes a standard XLR cable though none is included. i did clean the XLR pins however as they were quite tarnished.

                  Priced accordingly.

Overall I would rate this mic physically a 6 on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my vintage microphone and related items...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded.
