The 1959 Les Paul in Cherry Sunburst—said to have been used by Eric Clapton during his “Layla” sessions—has been faithfully recreated using the latest technology from the Gibson Custom Shop!

The exquisite maple top is a highly recommended specimen with a grain pattern very close to the original’s!! Even the gaps between the “b” and “o”

in the Gibson logo are based on the surviving original instrument, and the ABR-1 with brass saddles and Schaller double-ring tuners are faithfully reproduced. The underwound Custom Bucker pickups bring out the unique character of the sound!!

The masterful aging finish by Tom Murphy faithfully recreates the original’s weather checking and buckle scratches!!

Includes a USB drive with a documentary video and a dust cover.

~Condition~

The previous owner meticulously replaced parts to bring the guitar closer to vintage specifications and subsequently stored it carefully; this instrument is in near-collector’s condition. (The pickups and tuners have been restored to their original parts.)

Since it was rarely taken out of the house, the case and other accessories are also in truly pristine condition.

The aniline finish on the back of the body remains intact, and there has been no color transfer from the neck binding.

The certificate of authenticity was in an unopened cardboard box, but we opened it for inspection and photography purposes.

The previous owner replaced the plastic parts with DMC parts, updating the details.

The included slide bar is difficult to identify, so it may have been replaced with another one.

The finish remains intact, and there are no scratches or other imperfections aside from natural aging.

The neck is straight, and there is plenty of adjustment range on the truss rod in both directions.

There is almost no fret wear.

This model rarely appears on the market, and I’ve heard of it fetching astronomical prices overseas.

If you were unable to get your hands on one when it was first released, don’t miss this opportunity!!

Included are the pickups previously installed by the consignor (Bare Knuckle Stormy Monday Aged Cream) (Bare

Knuckle The Mule Aged Cream), two Aged nickel pickup covers, a set of tuners (GROVER Aged

Nickel), and a Gibson Custom strap (unused).
