Up for sale is my 2024 PRS S2 Vela Semi-Hollow in Midnight Metallic, and this is not your typical production S2 Vela.

This guitar was part of a very limited market sample run sent directly from PRS to Brian’s Guitars, one of the largest independent PRS dealers in the country. According to correspondence from Brian’s Guitars, they received only 4-5 of these guitars from PRS.

What makes this guitar especially interesting is that it represents a transitional specification between model years. It combines several features that were never offered together as a standard production model:

• 2025 color Midnight Metallic Satin finish
• 2025 pickup configuration (new narrow field in neck position)
• Classic dot inlays from the previous generation
• PRS locking tuners from the previous generation
• Semi-hollow body construction

Brian’s Guitars described these instruments as research and design samples directly from PRS, though they are technically production S2 models that predated PRS’s decision to move to bird inlays on the S2 Vela.

This creates a truly unique factory-built Vela that sits between two generations of the model and represents a configuration that was never available through standard production.

The guitar plays and sounds incredible, with all of the versatility and character that makes the S2 Vela such an underrated model in the PRS lineup.
