~1985 Fender Performer Bass Guitar

This is a pretty rare/cool made in Japan Fender bass, only made from 1985-1987. It's gotta a pencil thin neck and would be good for someone with small hands. It's a rocker, plays well, sounds like a Fender bass to me, but has a little tonal versatility. Here is the wikipedia:

  • All original.
  • Good condition with fairly many dings and scuffs, see pictures
  • Includes non-original but well fitting hard shell case as shown.

It does have a few minor issues:

  • As pictured, there is a chip in the fretboard above the nut, as well as a small divot on the first fret, along with what looks like a little burn on the head stock (maybe from a soldering iron, I dunno. None of these cause any practical/play issues, but it might be worth having a luthier cut a small piece of rosewood and glue it in there so the nut is fully supported. I did re-glue the nut recently.
  • There is a bit of string buzz at the lowest frets, coudl be adjusted a little. Was not a big deal to me in terms of playing and though.
  • The jack was a little bit touchy, I used some contact cleaner. It might be worth replacing, but again, working as-is.
  • The tone knob ("TBX" tone knob or whatnot, the lowest knob towards the bottom) seems to spin past its upper end point. Working fine, the center detente is fine, no sound issues, but might need to be a little gentle with it. It could be the knob though.
  • The aforementioned dings and scratches.

Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for looking--

A note on shipping/handling: it really depends on your location. If it ends up costing much less I will refund the difference.
