2012 EVH Wolfgang Special - MIC - Black, Hardtail

EVH Wolfgang Special Hardtail - Made in China. Production moved from Japan after the tsunami. These are high-quality instruments! GREAT sound. This guy has some light scratches from being enjoyed all these years. See photos. Tuning on these things are rock solid.

This one has a story to it as told by the goofy serial number. It is from MIRC (Musical Instrument Reclamation Corporation) MIRC partners with major manufacturers and retailers to buy "distressed" inventory. This includes factory seconds, flawed or slightly damaged instruments, store returns, overstock, and items that didn't pass strict quality control (QC) inspections. When MIRC refurbishes a guitar, they typically stamp or imprint a "USED" mark on the back of the headstock and place a serial number sticker (often gold) over the manufacturer's original serial number.

I'm not sure what the original flaw was -- everything looks good to me. I suppose this can be considered B-stock or refurbished.

Recent set-up with 10s and some fret ends got rounded off by a luthier-- not me and my inexperience. Not getting the love it used to get. Time for it to be played again. Padded Fender gig bag included.
