Truly an under the bed find
This Alvarez 5062 Bicentennial model is in exceptional condition for a guitar of any age.
Professionally set up and a bone saddle with plenty of meat left on it. String height at 12th feet is 11/64”. Nut width is 1 11/16”
It looks as if there could be a crack on the top behind the bridge by it does not go through the wood.
According to the Alvarez dating website the guitar was made in 1973.
It appears to be a Japan copy of the Guild D35, down to the Guild style headstock.
Solid spruce top with mahogany sides and back, have seen conflicting reports of either solid or laminated wood for that. Plays effortlessly, and comes with very decent no name hard shell case.
Hard to believe this gem is over 50 years old.
It will come with a very good no name case.
