For Sale: 2025 Fender Japan Limited Collection Traditional 60s Jazz Bass – Black Pearl

Up for sale is a rare 2025 Fender Made in Japan Limited Collection Traditional 60s Jazz Bass in a striking Black Pearl finish. This instrument is in Excellent condition with moderate cosmetic blemishes and comes complete with the original case candy and Fender gig bag. (Please note: The hardshell case pictured is for display purposes only and is not included).

The Instrument

Part of a highly limited, special factory run for the 2025 Collection, the Jazz Bass is one of the rarest models in this series. The Black Pearl finish is a stunning metallic black paired elegantly with premium gold hardware.

Built on the foundation of the acclaimed Traditional 60s platform, the successor to the beloved '62 Reissue (JB62), this model brings vintage spec into the modern era while retaining the soul, quirks, and unmistakable mojo of the original MIJ classics.

Craftsmanship & Playability

Crafted at the legendary Dyna Gakki factory, this bass represents the pinnacle of their post-2022 retooling and modernization. The build quality coming out of this factory easily rivals, and often eclipses, its American counterparts.

True to its JB62 heritage, the body and neck profile are slightly slimmer than standard vintage-spec Jazz Basses, making it an incredibly fast, comfortable, and ergonomic player. The highly resonant basswood body is paired with a beautiful dark rosewood slab board. Electronically, the vintage-style single-coils deliver a wonderful, warm classic thump, but with a refined modern punch that cuts through any mix.

Condition & Setup

  • Setup: Professionally dialed-in and ready to play straight out of the box. Strung with D'Addario NYXL (45–100). Action is set low and fast at 2.0mm on the E string and 1.75mm on the G string.
  • Cosmetics: Rated Excellent. The bass has two finish blemishes (moderate dings/dents) located on the bottom edge and the arm contour. Both are strictly cosmetic and do not affect playability. (Please refer to pictures 13 and 14 for close-ups).
