Dubbed the "Swamp Dawg", the Gretsch 8-Tube Snare is a multi-faceted drum and a versatile addition to the Gretsch product line. The tuning range is expanded due to the deep 14 x 8" mahogany shell that, when tuned low, creates an open "swampy", dark, throaty, "lo-fi" timbre reminiscent of historic recordings from the '70s.
This snare has only been used in live sessions a handful of times. Other than that, it’s been case kept or in studio use. The tonality of the wood makes this drum great as an auxiliary snare, tuned up for a full crack or tuned down for punch. it also does well as an auxiliary floor tom. Would prefer local pickup but will investigate shipping cost if needed.
