• StarLab is reverb, delay, modulation, pitch-shifted harmonics, filtering, freeze, presets, and Karplus-Strong string synthesis in one 28HP Eurorack module.
• Most reverbs only give you space.... StarLab gives you space, delay routing, modulation, pitch harmonics, filtering, freeze, presets, stereo I/O, analog dry path, and a playable string voice.
• Three real reverb engines: SPARSE for separated reflections, DENSE for fast plate-like smoothness, DIFFUSE for slow bloom / swell / reverse-feel ambient wash.
• Stereo done right: mono-to-stereo or stereo-in/stereo-out patching. Better than “wide-ish” mono tricks. It actually belongs at the end of a serious modular chain.
• Analog dry path. Dry signal stays dry. No forced digital conversion. No extra dry latency. Cleaner than designs that digitize everything just to add reverb.
• Audio engine is not cheap-box grade: 24-bit / 96kHz A/D and D/A, SHARC DSP, 32-bit floating-point processing. Big internal headroom, clean conversion, real Strymon DSP muscle.
• DELAY/KARPLUS section is the cheat code. It is not just pre-delay. It can feed the output for delay/verb and mod/verb effects, so chorus, flanger, echo, and reverb live inside the same routing brain.
• Karplus-Strong mode makes it a voice, not just an effect. Four-octave string synthesis with damping control; pluck/bow behavior turns the module into a playable physical-model style instrument.
• SHIMMER is interval control, not fairy dust. Adjustable pitch-shifted reverb up to ±1 octave, so it can sit below, above, or around the source instead of just spraying high-end sparkle.
• GLIMMER adds harmonic life. It dynamically enhances harmonics in the reverb, giving movement and shine without needing another exciter or spectral module.
• FILTER section matters. High/low EQ sculpting plus a 4-pole 24dB/octave variable-resonance low-pass filter. That is real tone control, not a token dark/bright knob.
• INFINITE freezes before the reverb tank. That means held input into the reverb, useful for pads, drones, transitions, and live ambient beds without killing the whole patch.
• LFO is patchable and useful. Triangle, square, ramp, saw, random, and envelope shapes; targets delay time, reverb size, or tone filters. This is movement built into the module, not another patch-tax.
• External modulation goes deep. EXT LFO IN accepts an external LFO, and DEPTH becomes an attenuverter. That means positive or negative modulation without adding another utility module.
• Front-panel presets are real-world useful. Four presets accessible from the front panel. Fast recall for live sets, ambient shifts, and structured performance patches.
• Exact rack specs: 28HP width, 41mm / 1.61” depth, +12V 210mA, -12V 210mA, +5V 0mA. Fits like a serious module, not a mystery power hog.
