The Kimbara Model No. 30 is a vintage acoustic guitar. Commissioned by UK distributor FCN London, it was crafted in Japan during the 1960s and 1970s. It has a folk body shape with a warm, mellow, and resonant sound.
This guitar was made in the famous Matsumoto factory. It has a spruce top and rosewood fingerboards. It has a "zero fret" and height adjustable bridge. The action is surprisingly good for a guitar of this age/period.
Kimbara guitars are renowned for punching well above their price tag. They provide an incredibly deep, rich, and mellow tone that you usually only find in highly aged, dried woods.
This example has some small surface marks as might be expected from a guitar of this age. Note: if you are looking at the photographs, make sure you are looking at the small surface marks not the reflections. None of the marks affects playability, and the mellow tone makes it a pleasure to play.
The guitar has been cleaned and restrung in our Sheffield store.
