This is the impossibly hard to find Swamp Thang tremolo pedal. Some people, including myself, think this is the very best vintage style tremolo pedal you can find. I have owned a few of these over the years including one of the very first large brown box models, one of the large square shaped black box models, and this third version in the smaller box. They all have the same electronics in them other than the fact that the early models had 2 foot switches, one of which cut the speed in half. I can tell you from experience that you really don't need that and this version does a great job with the speed range. These were designed and made by John Spears and this one is from 2010. I actually bought this fairly recently and it's the first one that I have seen come up for sale in at least a couple of years other than the hugely overpriced pedal that has been on reverb for the last three or four years. If you are interested in these I would jump on it because They just don't come up for sale very often anymore.
This one has definitely been used with little chips in the paint, and the screws on the bottom were replaced with little finger screws and they don't really hold very well. So I put a small strip of gaffer's tape on the bottom to hold the back plate in place. You could easily just replace the screws and it will be fine. This pedal works on a battery or a 9 V power supply. Everything works perfectly as it should and sounds fantastic.
