It’s my privilege to present this guitar for your consideration. Here we have a 1988 Gibson ES-175D (D for double pickup), all original, with original case in the classic sunburst finish, and mahogany back and sides.
The guitar is in excellent condition, showing very minimal signs of use. I has been a closet queen, unplayed but cared for since 2011, but has recently received a fresh setup.
Some light picking, a couple small marks on the back, and most notably, there is a former owner’s initials humorously notched into the back of the headstock above the serial number. Only marked VG due to the initials engraved, however it is a neat piece of history for the guitar.
Please message me for for pictures and video.
If you’re local, please stop by during business hours and we can go over the guitar together.
First offered by Gibson in 1949, this ES-175 comes from an increasingly heralded era of Gibson production colloquially known as the “good wood” era.
What makes this particular Gibson is a special example - it features mahogany back and sides (instead of the usual maple).
Gibson briefly implemented mahogany for the back/sides of the ES-175 model in 1983 before shifting back to all-maple construction in 1990.

*** AMERICAN CUSTOMERS ***
Although this is an american made guitar, meaning no tariff, there still can be some brokerage / handling fees. It’s a dice roll, sometimes no fee at all, sometimes $25, sometimes $125. The receiver (you) is in charge of paying these fees, and dealing with the import broker (if they happen). I’m happy to help advise if this happens.
