This axe starts off with a lightweight basswood body and a maple top, sporting direct-mount custom-wound EVH Wolfgang pickups that deliver fiery leads and chunky rhythm tones. The Wolfgang’s neck is all-business, constructed from quartersawn maple that’s finished with a hand-rubbed satin urethane finish for a smooth, fast feel, while the ebony fingerboard’s 12-16-inch compound radius is ideal for 6-string virtuosos like Eddie who take full control of the guitar’s range. Finally, a rock-solid hardware combo of an EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking tremolo, locking nut, and D-Tuna round out the EVH MIJ Series Signature Wolfgang, all adding up to a truly stage-ready 6-string, and if it was good enough for Eddie, it’s certainly good enough for us!

Road tested by EVH himself

To say this guitar is "road tested" would definitely be an understatement! Wolfgang prototypes were put through a full year of brutal in-concert road testing by Eddie on Van Halen's triumphant 2007–2008 world tour. The result is a bulletproof and beautiful guitar that takes whatever you can dish out and then asks for more. As the VH tour roared along, Eddie changed and adjusted components and specs until he was satisfied with the Wolfgang's sound, feel, and looks. To prove that it was battle-worthy and could survive the road, performance data was collected from every gig for months and months to establish and confirm consistency and durability.

Built to Eddie's exacting specifications

From its basswood body to its quartersawn maple neck and beautiful ebony fingerboard, the EVH MIJ Series Signature Wolfgang just screams quality — and that's just the tonewoods! This gorgeous guitar is made for serious playing, with a Floyd Rose #2 locking nut, EVH Floyd Rose trem (complete with D-Tuna), and hard-mounted EVH humbuckers. All the components come together to make a guitar that looks absolutely stunning and plays even better!

Quartersawn neck for stability and playability

The neck is one of the most important aspects of any instrument, which is why the EVH MIJ Series Signature Wolfgang features a quartersawn maple neck. Besides looking good, the straight grain of quartersawn necks is about 50% more stable than plain-sawn necks, and less likely to warp, twist, or shrink. You'll also love the playability and feel of the compound-radius fretboard on the Wolfgang. The fretboard radius goes from 12" at the nut to a comfortable and flat 16" radius on the upper frets.
