A used 1997 D-35 has arrived!

Introduced in 1965, the D-35 was originally designed with a solid Brazilian rosewood (Jacaranda) back. However, in the 1960s, the Brazilian government banned the export of Brazilian rosewood in log form to conserve natural resources. This led to a significant increase in material costs, making the guitar unsuitable for mass production. Consequently, a gthree-pieceh back was adopted to conserve materials.

The all-solid dreadnought body features a spruce top and Indian rosewood sides and back.
The top features non-scalloped X-bracing and is fitted with a striped ebony bridge.
The mahogany neck, with a nut width of approximately 43 mm and a 25.4" long scale, features a bound striped ebony fingerboard.
The headstock is equipped with Rotomatic-style tuners bearing the Martin logo.
The body has a gloss finish, and the neck has a satin finish.

Since its arrival, the guitar has been cleaned, the strings replaced, the truss rod adjusted, the frets leveled, the binding re-glued, and three back braces on both sides repaired.
The truss rod has been checked for movement up to 60 degrees in both directions and is functioning properly (though there is little play remaining); the frets are low but still retain sufficient height for comfortable playing.
Due to age and previous re-gluing, there are slight steps at the joints between the binding and the body, as well as between the binding and the neck.
The body has scattered areas of paint peeling, dents, scratches, playing marks, and scuffs.
There is a sticky residue caused by paint changes on the back of the neck (which has developed a sheen) and on both the front and back of the headstock.
Although it shows signs of aging and wear, playability is excellent!

It has a well-balanced sound with pleasant sustain and will perform well whether youfre strumming or playing with your fingers!
