This is a late 1960s Harmony Bobkat H-15 or a Kolorkat H-16. This Bobkat has a Harmony H-19 body with a correct Bobkat sunburst finish. It is a Bobkat but in adult size. It is not the standard size body of the Bobkats. The neck is regular Bobkat, as are the OEM gold foil (Golden throat?) pickups and toggle switch. However it has Volume and Tone for each pickup, like the Silhouette. It has the Silhouette vibrato tailpiece. It has the Silhouette body. Meanwhile, the pickguard is just like the Bobkat but is larger to fit this larger body. The bridge is of the Bigsby alloy type. It would be correct with the Rosewood Harmony bridge. I haven't had one for a while. I always loved the Bobkats except for their size. This one is nearly 40" LOA and 13" body width. It is a joy to play without feeling like a giant. String length is 24". Easy playing.

Doing some A-I Googling it seems that Harmony never made the Bobkat line with the larger body in that era. I was marketed to younger, student players. Evidently they later developed their Kolorkat line with some cosmetic changes, knobs, body and foil colors. And at some point they supposedly decided to make silhouette-bodied Kolorkats in Blue, the H16B and in white, the H16B. The website showing these in those colors also show the bridges in on the pickguards as it was with the original Bobkat. So it's possible this was one of those Kolorkats but with the unusual Bobkat 2 color sunburst. So no conclusions here.

I suspect it was a Silhouette body stripped and pro-refinished to authentic Bobkat colors (excellent job), they artistically made a new pickguard in Bobkat white plastic. They used the Silhouette harness with the Bobkat toggle and added the Silhouette vibrato.

But, when I bought this, it had 2 Stratotone pickups and needed some setup TLC and cleaning. The body cavity had been painted with shielding. The pickguard holes were one place too close to bridge so I added hole near the input jack and plastic-plugged the unused hole. Adding the OEM gold foils to the circuit and toggle also required reconnecting the grounds. Adhesive shielding had been stuck to the bottom of the pickguard. There is light scratching in the bridge area of the pickguard and evidently someone put the bridge down on the wood finish, also creating scratching to keep it in that wrong position. I didn't address that but it could probably be carefully/lightly smoothed and clear coated.

I did what it needed for setup and it all works exactly as intended, plays smooth and easy, pickups respond with strong, clear authority. Vibrato is smooth and quick with light or heavy touch. The overall physical condition is excellent. It's a fabulous and unique Harmony Bobkat and it's not too small to play as the elfin originals.

Bringing this back to true Bobkat sound and style was a enjoyable project - finally a found "full, adult-sized" Bobkat. It may be the only one in the world. Unfortunately I don't play Harmony electrics rock and roll any more. So this sweet guitar is up for grabs. The Silhouette/Silvertone 1478 case will fit perfectly. I just don't have one to go with it. Cases do show up on Reverb often.

So, no case. This will be well-packed and promptly shipped. --I describe and present images of the item to the best of my ability. Please review the images and ask questions you may have.
