Here's a fantastic vintage lap steel and amplifier package condition in amazing condition! These instruments are incredibly clean for their vintage. The pots on this English Electronics Tonemaster Lap Steel by Valco are dated 1955. The lap steel has very minimal light finish markings on it here and there, but really not much more than what you might find on a guitar just a couple years old. We did have to replace the buttons on the tuners, but everything else in original. Even the felt on the back hasn't all worn off!

The Tonemaster amplifier is warm but cuts through tonally. There is a spot on the handle that looks like an adhesive tag was pulled off, and there are a few small rips in the original amp cover. The badge does have a slight smudge and although the chrome looks like it might be starting to age, it still remains mostly shines and reflective.

Every thing works and the original guitar case is included as well as a period correct slide and 1/4" cable!

The English Electronics Tonemaster lap steel and amplifier are highly collectible pieces of mid-century Americana manufactured by Valco in Chicago during the 1950s and 1960s. Despite the name, they were distributed locally by Norman English Sales Inc. out of Lansing, Michigan. They are highly prized today for their unique aesthetics and warm, overdriven vintage tones.
