For sale is a vintage early 1960's Supro Jet Airliner Console Steel Guitar, fully functional and complete with its original Valco string-thru pickup & magnets, legs, and case. It can be played either as a console steel with legs, or as a lap steel.
The original pickup cover and retaining screws are intact, but the Supro logos are missing from the cover and the headstock. The original pickup sounds like a Supro should, and retains both of its original magnets. The pole adjustment screws are corrosion-free and fully functional. One of the pickup mounting screws (rear bass side) is broken inside the body of the guitar; the other three are intact and this presents no audible or playability issues. The broken screw is visible and can likely be extracted.
The volume and tone controls appear to be original, and are fully functional and noise-free.
The Kluson Deluxe tuners appear to be original, and the tuner buttons all appear to have been replaced; all tuners function as expected.
A previous owner installed carpeting on the bottom of the guitar, it appears to be nearly as old as the guitar but is intact and comfortable for lap use.
The overall condition is good to very good, with the usual signs of age. The original paint is largely intact.
The original case and legs are included, and function as intended. The case hinges and latches are all functional, but the center latch needs manual closure.
