The Schecter C-1 Standard Plus in Transparent Purple Burst Boutique Performance Reimagined

At Town Center Music, we often see guitars that try to balance style and substance, but the Schecter C-1 Standard Plus is a rare example of a guitar that masters both without compromise. Dressed in a mesmerizing Transparent Purple Burst, this instrument looks like it belongs in a private collection, yet it’s built with the rugged reliability that professional touring musicians expect from Schecter. The "Plus" in the name isn't just marketing—it’s a promise of upgraded features, from the premium roasted maple fretboard and neck to the rock-solid locking tuners. For the player who wants high-end specs without the custom-shop price tag, the C-1 Standard Plus is the answer.

The C-1 body shape is the cornerstone of the Schecter lineup, known for its sleek contours and unparalleled upper-fret access. In this Standard Plus iteration, Schecter has taken that iconic silhouette and refined it for the modern player who needs a versatile tool capable of handling everything from crystal-clear cleans to saturated, high-gain leads.

Exotic Woods and a Finish That Pops

The foundation of the C-1 Standard Plus is a solid mahogany body. Mahogany is prized in the guitar world for its rich, warm resonance and its ability to provide a thick, sustaining low-end. To give the guitar a visual "wow" factor and a touch of high-end "snap," Schecter has capped the mahogany with a highly figured quilted maple top. The Transparent Purple Burst finish allows the natural "cloud-like" texture of the quilt to shine through, creating a deep, 3D effect that looks different under every stage light.

The body is framed with black one-ply binding, which provides a classic, elegant border that ties the purple burst and the dark mahogany back together. This is a guitar that looks as expensive as it sounds, providing a "classy-yet-aggressive" vibe that fits into any genre.

A Neck Built for Speed and Comfort

Playability is where the C-1 Standard Plus truly separates itself from the competition. It features a 3-piece maple neck with a "Thin C" profile. The 3-piece construction is inherently more stable than a single-piece neck, making it resistant to the warping and twisting caused by humidity changes—a vital feature for musicians in Georgia. The set-neck construction with Schecter’s famous Ultra Access heel allows your hand to glide all the way up to the 24th fret without feeling the "clunk" of a traditional neck joint.

Armed with 24 X-Jumbo frets and a 14-inch radius, the roasted maple fretboard is a playground for shredders and blues players alike. Massive bends feel effortless, and the abalone dot inlays provide a subtle, iridescent touch of luxury to the overall design.

Versatile Vintage Power: Schecter Diamond '78 Pickups

The C-1 Standard Plus is equipped with a pair of Schecter Diamond '78 humbuckers. These pickups are inspired by the "hot-rodded" tones of the late 70s—think classic rock punch with enough output to drive a modern high-gain amplifier. They offer a great balance of vintage clarity and modern muscle. The bridge pickup provides a biting, harmonic-rich lead tone, while the neck pickup is creamy and articulate, perfect for soulful solos or warm jazz passages.

However, the real versatility lies in the controls. The Master Tone knob features a push-pull coil-split. By pulling the knob up, you can transform these humbuckers into single-coil voices, unlocking glassy, "spanky" tones that are perfect for funk, country, or ambient pop. With two volume controls and a 3-way toggle switch, you can blend and shape your signal to find your unique voice in seconds.

Pro-Level Hardware for Total Reliability

The Schecter hardtail bridge with a string-thru-body design ensures maximum vibrational transfer. By running the strings through the mahogany body, you get an increase in natural sustain and a resonant "thump" that you can feel against your ribs while you play. This is a "no-nonsense" hardware setup designed to work as hard as you do.
