Trident TSM 32-Channel Recording Console - CBC Quebec / Jean-Marc Payoux Custom Mods

Late 1970s Trident TSM, 32-channel, 24-bus console. Originally owned by CBC Quebec, built to broadcast signal-to-noise standards. Custom modified by Jean-Marc Payoux in Montreal, including conversion of the original yellow slider EQs to parametric, addressing the TSM's known grounding issues and unreliable yellow sliders (ask anybody who's used them). Only a handful of TSMs received the Payoux treatment, making this a rare find.

32 transformer-balanced mic/line inputs with broadcast-quality Hammond input transformers on the mic pres and Jensen transformers on the group outputs. Full EQ on every channel.

Console history: CBC Quebec > Montreal (Payoux mods) > Texas > Orbit Audio (Seattle).

We've put significant work into this desk, recapping most of it and restoring it from a partially-working state to a fully functional console that we used every day in our commercial studio. It sounds far superior to the 80B we had. The parametric EQs are much more surgical and the 2-bus sounds bigger than our 80B ever did.

Currently kept in a climate-controlled, air-conditioned storage unit.
