Rickenbacker 360 Semi-Hollowbody Electric Guitar

Approx year of manufacture: 1965

Made in: Santa Ana, California, USA

Finish: Fire Glo

Case/Extras: Comes with original Hard case. Case is in Good shape with some mostly removed stenciling still visible and an area around it that has a slightly different color from the cleaning.

Cosmetic Condition: Very Good condition with some light marks, scratches and other signs of its age. The fretboard was slightly plained on this guitar and it was refretted and as a result the top layer of lacquer on the fretboard was removed leaving the inlays a bright white like they were when the guitar was new instead of the yellowed look that happens when the lacquer yellows from various things in the environment.

Operational Condition: Fully-functioning and fabulous sounding. As expected for a vintage Ric, the neck pickup is significantly louder than the bridge pickup but they both sound great and the middle position is to die for

Description: We're honored to be offering this absolute Rock Star Rickenbacker 360 from one of the greatest years in 1965. The Byrd's cover of Dylan's "Mr Tambourine and The Beatles "Ticket to Ride" were both on the Top 40 the same year this lovely 360 before it was paired with its case and shipped off to a dealer. This is about as fine a Ric as this writer (and Ric guitars lover) has ever wrapped my fretting fingers around. We're pretty sure it was an excellent, lightweight, resonant and lively guitar from the factory but age has only made it sweeter. Also, it has had its fretboard re-plained and refretted by one of the finest luthier's in the Midwest (this tech has done extensive work for Wilco, Smashing Pumpkins, Steve Albini, etc) improving the radius and action and making it a joy to get around on.

I take no pleasure in saying that no modern Ric even comes close to feeling as good as this one here but it is the truth. It also sounds just like a great Ric should with a rich, chiming and articulate tone that sounds like those great 1960s records we all love. If you're after a real deal 1960s Ric you owe it to yourself to consider this fabulous FireGlo 360 from '65
