The VHT Special 6 Ultra Head is an all-tube, 6-watt guitar amplifier head widely praised as a "budget boutique" tone machine. - Variable Watts Control: A built-in front-panel attenuator that scales output power continuously from 6 watts down to 0.5 watts. This allows you to squeeze high-gain, natural tube distortion at quiet, bedroom-friendly volumes.
- Dual Inputs & High Gain: Offers a standard "Clean" input and a dedicated "Ultra" input. The Ultra setting introduces an extra preamp gain stage for modern rock crunch and searing lead tones.
- Advanced Tone Shaping: Equipped with an 11-position Depth control to fine-tune low-frequency responsiveness. It also includes a 3-way Texture switch to roll off high-end harmonics to match your guitar's pickups.
- Footswitchable Boost: The volume knob features a pull-boost function that bypasses the tone stack for a pure, snarly midrange gain boost. A single-button footswitch is included to activate this feature remotely.
- Tube-Buffered Effects Loop: Unlike most low-wattage vintage clones, it includes an all-tube buffered effects loop and a line-out jack on the rear panel.
- Speaker & Tube Versatility: Includes multi-tap outputs for 4, 8, or 16-ohm speaker cabinets. The stock 6V6 power tube can also easily accept alternate tube types like an EL84 (via an adapter), 6L6, or EL34 for custom tonal variations.
