Thomas Organ Cry Baby 95-910511 – 1970s USA – red TDK inductor

An original American Cry Baby, built by Thomas Organ Co. in Sepulveda, California during the 1970s, before Dunlop took over production. These US-made Thomas Organ Cry Babies with the red TDK inductor are, for many players, the classic American Cry Baby sound: vocal, throaty and smooth, with a lovely range of sweep.

• Model: Cry-Baby 95-910511, stamped on the bottom plate with "Thomas Organ Co., Sepulveda, California – Patents Pending"
• Serial number plate on the bottom
• Made in USA, 1970s (the red TDK inductor and brown circuit board are typical of the early-to-mid 70s production)
• Original factory inspection sticker inside the housing ("Chk. Lst # / Checker #")

INSIDE (see photos)

• Red TDK inductor marked "5103 Japan"
• Original brown circuit board with period resistors and silver tubular capacitors
• Potentiometer with rack-and-gear, footswitch and input/output jacks all appear original
• Battery powered (9V) through the original battery clip – no DC jack, as on the original design
• This is a wah only (no volume function)

CONDITION

• Fully working: smooth wah sweep, switch engages as it should
• Honest player wear: paint worn off the edges of the treadle and base, scratches on the bottom plate
• Original "cry baby" badge present, 4 rubber feet present
• Some dust and light surface oxidation inside, normal for a pedal of this age
