Rare Depression-era Kalamazoo KTG-11 tenor guitar, built by Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Factory Order Number 787B dates this instrument to approximately 1936–1937.

Features a solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, original sunburst finish, firestripe pickguard, trapeze tailpiece, and script Kalamazoo headstock logo. The guitar retains its vintage character with honest play wear consistent with its age. Bridge appears original, and the neck is straight with good playability.

Kalamazoo was Gibson’s in-house budget brand during the 1930s, and these instruments were built in the same factory by Gibson craftsmen. Tenor versions like the KTG-11 are considerably less common than their six-string counterparts and are sought after by collectors, folk musicians, and Irish traditional players.

A wonderful piece of pre-war American guitar history.
