For sale is a super rare 1989 PRS Classic Electric (CE 24) from the historic Annapolis, Maryland era. All the parts are original except the strap buttons.
The neck heel cavity features a pristine handwritten factory date stamp of 5/24/89 (photo), and the guitar comes with its original warranty document showing it was purchased from Frithiofs Musik on 16/11/89.
In my opinion, the coolest feature of this guitar is the original 5-way rotary switch, which gives you access to very unique split-coil and out-of-phase sounds. Original factory-stickered PRS HFS Treble bridge pickup and PRS Vintage Bass neck pickup, ear candy! The guitar features the highly desirable, early-era solid alder body with a bolt-on maple neck and a beautiful dark rosewood fretboard. Weight is only 3,4kg without the tremolo arm.
Condition & Playability
The guitar is in excellent condition for its age. It sounds and looks incredible, and the playability is amazingly smooth and effortless. Some beautiful, natural playwear can be seen on the back of the neck, this has been played and loved, not stuck in a closet.
The frets are in a very good condition with plenty of life left, and everything is 100% fully functional.
