Product Details

The Phil Jones Bass (PJB) PE-5 is a preamp that excels in situations where you want to refine your bass sound while maintaining its core tone. True to PJB's reputation for amplifier and cabinet development, its design focuses on the definition and balance required for low-frequency instruments, making it a versatile model suitable for everything from live performances to home practice.

This model's strength lies not only in volume correction, but also in its ability to easily adjust the bass's inherent presence and cohesion at your feet. It's useful not only for simply adding thickness to the sound, but also for positioning the bass so it doesn't get lost in the overall setup. This unit avoids becoming overly complex, offering practicality that makes it easy to grasp the necessary changes.

In terms of sound, it provides a solid foundation without overemphasizing the low frequencies, while also making the mid-range presence more prominent. Its ease of use is evident in situations where you want to prevent your bass line from getting lost in an ensemble, or when you want to clarify the nuances between fingerstyle and pick playing. This model makes it easy to achieve both a forward sound and a supportive sound. For those who want to subtly enhance the presence of their bass, this unit offers both ease of use and practicality. If you're looking to broaden your sound-shaping possibilities for everyday use, rather than just aiming for dramatic changes, this unit will naturally catch your eye.
