Up for sale is a rare, 100% authentic vintage late-1970s / early-1980s Fender Precision Bass gold-plated bridge.
Not reissue! Rare original vintage 1970s - 1984 USA Fullerton Fender Precision bass bridge, beautifully aged. Check my other listings for the gold bridge cover and pickup shield pair that might be the correct match for this bridge. This will look great on your special order or elite etc P-bass!
These original gold-plated components were used for high-end custom orders, late CBS "International Color Series" instruments, and the iconic 1980s Fender Precision Bass "Special" active and similar models.
Condition Details & Provenance:
- Authentic Player Wear: This set features incredible, honest "road-worn" patina. The top surfaces have naturally worn down to the underlying nickel layer from decades of playing, interspersed with original bright gold plating.
- Factory Clues: If you look at the back lip of the bridge plate and the underside, you can see the pinkish copper/brass bonding layer bleeding through, showing the Fullerton factory plating technique from this era. The saddles show that classic, chalky white zinc oxidation from the era as well.
Of course the saddles may require some lubrication and/or cleaning to be able to adjust properly.
