Up for sale is a rare, 100% authentic matched set of vintage late-1970s / early-1980s Fender Precision Bass gold-plated covers.

These are not reissue! Rare original vintage 1970s - 1984 USA Fullerton Fender Precision bass bridge matched gold cover and pickup shield, beautifully aged and perfectly useable. This set includes both the P-Bass pickup cover (hand-rest shield) and the matching bridge cover. These original gold-plated components were reserved strictly for high-end custom orders, late CBS "International Color Series" instruments, and the iconic 1980 Fender Precision Bass "Special" active models.

Condition Details & Provenance:

• Authentic Player Wear: This set features incredible, honest "road-worn" patina. The top surfaces have naturally worn down to the underlying nickel layer from decades of hand resting and playing, leaving the original bright gold plating beautifully intact on the mounting ears and protected undersides.
• Factory Clues: The underside of the bridge cover clearly shows the original pinkish copper/brass under-plate bonding layer used by the USA Fender factory during this specific production era—proving these are true vintage pieces and not modern reproductions.

If you are looking to restore a rare 1980 P-Bass Special (Candy Apple Red, Lake Placid Blue, Walnut) or a late-70s custom order or similar model back to its original glory, finding a matched set with perfectly synchronized natural aging is incredibly difficult. These are the ones you want!
