We have received a 325JL John Lennon Special Edition, manufactured in 1990,

as evidenced by the accompanying certificate of authenticity.

Produced from 1989 to 1993 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of John Lennon’s birth,

this limited edition consisted of three models—the short-scale “325JL,” the regular-scale “355JL,”

and the 12-string version “355-12JL”—with a total production run of just 2,000 guitars.

The accompanying certificate of authenticity lists a serial number in the 400s.

This is the model John Lennon loved from the early days of The Beatles right through to the end.

It’s compact with a short scale, lightweight thanks to its hollow body, and above all, it looks cool.

Truly a guitar that needs no introduction!

Compared to the lineup from that era, the headstock shape has been updated,

and the truss rod cover uses flathead screws.

The pickups—the heart of the sound—feature three Toaster pickups.

The previous owner purchased it out of admiration for John back in the day;

rather than playing it, he reportedly enjoyed taking the guitar out of its silver hard case,

hanging it on a stand, and admiring it while listening to his favorite Beatles records and CDs.

The pickguard, featuring an illustration of John, has faded due to aging.

The finish shows weather checking and topcoat discoloration from age.

The frets and nut still have plenty of height remaining,

and the truss rod turns smoothly in both directions.

This limited-edition 325JL has become a rare sight on the market.

Overseas, it’s selling at surprisingly high average prices.
