The Arion SMM-1 Stereo Metal Master is a cult-classic, vintage 1980s Japanese-made distortion pedal. Widely recognized as a cost-effective, plastic-housed alternative to the legendary Boss HM-2, it is heavily sought after by metal and doom guitarists for its aggressive, high-gain "chainsaw" tones. 

In very good used condition missing the battery cover which is a common problem with these units. Tested and works great. No box.

• The Sweet Spot: To achieve a classic "chainsaw" black metal or death metal sound, players typically dime the Gain, boost the High knob for maximum buzz-saw bite, and carefully tweak the Lows so the signal doesn't turn into uncontrollable mush.
• The Caveat: Because of its aggressive character and active EQ, small adjustments can drastically alter your tone. It has a very specific clipping structure and is generally best paired with a high-headroom, decent tube amplifier.
