The 1966 Gibson ES-345 is a semi-hollow electric guitar featuring a laminated maple body, a slim 1 9/16 inch nut width mahogany neck, Patent Number decal humbuckers, stereo wiring, a 6-position Varitone circuit, gold-plated hardware, and an ABR-1 bridge with a trapeze or Bigsby tailpiece.

- Body Type: Semi-hollow body with a solid maple center block
- Top & Back: Laminated curly/figured maple
- Dimensions: 16" wide, 19" long 1 5/8" deep
- Finishes Available: Sunburst, Cherry (TDC), and Walnut (TDW)
Neck & Fingerboard
- Neck Material: One-piece mahogany
- Fingerboard Material: Rosewood (some early 1966 models may feature Brazilian rosewood)
- Scale Length: 24 3/4" (628.65 mm)
- Nut Width: Narrow 1 9/16" (approx. 40 mm), characteristic of the mid-to-late 1960s slim neck profile
- Inlays: Pearloid split (double) parallelograms
- Frets: 22 medium-jumbo frets

- Plating: Gold-plated
- Bridge: Adjustable ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic
- Tailpiece: Original trapeze tailpiece, or factory-ordered Bigsby vibrato
