Up for sale is a very rare vintage Jouan & Guesdon Paris alto saxophone, made in France (18 Rue de Belleville, Paris) during the golden era of French woodwind manufacturing. This is a true "stencil" gem from an obscure, small Parisian workshop, making it highly collectible for fans of classic French saxophone history.

Serial Number: 12131 (stamped on the back of the body). Based on French vintage records, it likely dates back to the mid-20th century.

Condition: Sold Strictly AS-IS for Parts or Repair (Project Horn).

Please read the details carefully before purchasing:

  • Pads & Corks: Needs a complete overhaul. The pads and corks are old and dry; the instrument is currently not playable and requires full repadding and regulation.
  • Cosmetics: The lacquer on the bell has worn off significantly due to its respectable age, giving it a beautiful vintage patina. No major structural damage or deep dents, but shows normal signs of time and use.
  • Key Work: A few mother-of-pearl key touches are missing and will need to be replaced by a technician.
  • Key Guard: One of the back key guards is currently detached. However, the original guard is fully present and included in the sale (you will just need standard vintage screws to reattach it).

What’s Included in the Bundle:

  1. Jouan & Guesdon Alto Saxophone (as described).
  2. Yamaha 4C Mouthpiece (in good used condition, an excellent bonus for testing the horn after repair).
  3. Vintage Hard Case (shows heavy cosmetic wear on the outside, but latches work perfectly and it provides essential protection for shipping).

This is a fantastic restoration project for an instrument maker, technician, or vintage saxophone collector looking for that unique, bright French sound.

Please check all high-resolution photos carefully. If you have any questions or need specific measurements, feel free to ask before buying or making an offer!
