The Collings I 35 LC Deluxe Bigsby in Dr. Pepper Burst is the kind of guitar that reminds you exactly why Collings has earned such a revered place among the finest instruments being built today. Elegant, alive, and built with extraordinary precision, this semi hollow masterpiece carries forward the legacy of the late Bill Collings with every carved line, every carefully chosen material, and every note that blooms from its figured maple body. Bill’s vision was never simply about building beautiful guitars. It was about building instruments with integrity, clarity, feel, and soul. That standard continues here with a guitar that feels deeply connected to the Collings tradition while offering its own distinctive voice and visual identity.

The Dr. Pepper Burst finish makes this I 35 LC Deluxe especially compelling. As an off menu custom color, it brings a rare and unmistakable character to the instrument, with a rich, sophisticated burst that perfectly complements the figured maple laminate top, back, and sides. Under the high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, the figure moves with depth and warmth, giving the guitar a look that is refined, vintage inspired, and beautifully unique. The grained ivoroid binding on the body, fingerboard, peghead, pickup rings, custom top hat knobs, and truss rod cover ties the whole aesthetic together with a level of detail that feels unmistakably Deluxe.

Built with semi hollow construction and a maple center block, this Collings offers the airy resonance and acoustic response players love in an I 35, while retaining the focus, sustain, and feedback resistance needed for serious stage and studio work. The Honduran mahogany neck is joined with Collings’ extra long mortise and tenon neck joint, giving the instrument a deeply stable and resonant foundation. A Madagascar rosewood fingerboard with custom parallelogram inlays beginning at the first fret adds a gorgeous visual touch, while the 12 inch fingerboard radius, medium 18 percent nickel silver frets, 1 11/16 inch nut, and 24 7/8 inch scale length create a feel that is smooth, familiar, and endlessly playable.

Tonally, the Lollar Low Wind Imperial Humbuckers are a perfect match for this guitar’s elegant build. They deliver the openness, sweetness, and dynamic response of a great vintage style humbucker, with plenty of clarity and harmonic complexity. The DiMarzio 500K pots, Jupiter Vintage Yellow capacitors, and 50s style wiring give the control set a beautifully musical response, allowing the guitar to clean up with grace, breathe under the fingers, and move from glassy articulation to warm, singing sustain with ease. The Kluson ABR 1 nickel plated zinc bridge with retaining wire pairs with a Bigsby tailpiece for expressive shimmer, subtle movement, and classic visual presence.

The ebony peghead veneer features a parallelogram inlay and the iconic Collings Haircut peghead profile, fitted with nickel Gotoh tuners with Collings logos and small grained ivoroid buttons. The unbound F holes keep the top clean and traditional, while the grained ivoroid appointments bring a sense of custom elegance throughout. Strung with D’Addario NYXL1149 strings, measuring 17 5/8 inches in body length, 1 5/8 inches in body depth, 15 inches across the lower bout, and 40 inches overall, this guitar has a perfectly balanced physical presence. At 7 pounds 8 ounces, it feels substantial without losing the comfort and responsiveness that make the I 35 LC such a beloved instrument.

Complete with its deluxe hardshell case, this Collings I 35 LC Deluxe Bigsby is a rare and stunning example of what happens when old world discipline, modern refinement, and custom shop imagination all meet in one instrument. From its off menu Dr. Pepper Burst finish to its expressive Bigsby, its Lollar powered voice, and its immaculate Deluxe appointments, this is a guitar built for the player who wants inspiration the moment they open the case.
