OMG!

This is a super rare Migma thinline guitar, made in East Germany (GDR) in about 1965-ish, maybe 2-3 years earlier or later.

Migma was a cooperation of various luthiers and other musical instruments makers in Germany, it predates WWII, but was dissolved later in East Germany in communist times in the early 1970s. The guitar here was most likely built by Gottfried Uebel, but noone is absolutely sure since the makers of the guitars distributed by Migma vary.

The guitar is a hollow body construction with a slim body. The neck is a very sturdy, fat neck with unknown wood- fingerboard. It is dead straight and plays like a breeze. The frets have been polished by myself during the restoration, and I was able to get out almost all the little crevasses in the lower frets, but not completely (you don't want to sand them down so far) - I think the result is pretty good and the guitar plays very comfortably now.

The pickups are great sounding single coils with high output (~7,5 kOhm). They can be switched with the three slider switches on the upper bout.

On the lower bout's electric plate there are 6 pots, a volume and tone for each pickup. The chicken head knobs are not original.

The bridge is a new replacement.

The issues of the guitar are of cosmetic nature, the old thin lacquer has crackled and worn off at many places. Near to the electrics plate there were some small cracks in the top which have been fixed. There were little holes all around the edge which have been closed. Also, there was a whole in the lower bout which I covered with a plastic plate.

The string action is at 1,5-2 mm on the 12th fret - if you still want it lower, put a shim beneath the neck, the neck is screwed to the guitar.

The guitar has been serviced completely, frets polished, fretboard cleaned and oiled, tuners cleaned and oiled. It plays like a breeze and works well. However, be aware of that it is an old guitar and the electrics are not new - if you jump around on stage Van Halen style with this, there might be issues. I advise to completely remove the old pots and cables and put in a new system IF you regularly want to play this live, and in other situations than a seated church service.

I will ship the guitar detuned for delivery in a sturdy cardboard package and lots of filler material. I did not have a single damage with shipping in the last 10 years.

Please note that I cannot influence shipping speed once the guitar has left my shop. In Europe, delivery takes 3-7 days mostly. Shipped to Canada or the US, allow up to 6 weeks please for customs and delivery. It depends heavily on how far you live from one of the central airport hubs in North America.
