The Ultimate 1951 Gibson ES-125 Golden-Era Archtop

This right here is an investment-grade slice of American music history straight out of the legendary Kalamazoo factory in early 1951. This gorgeous non-cutaway archtop features an ultra-resonant hollow body with a beautiful sunburst finish on a maple top, classic bound edges, and an untouched, screaming original P-90 pickup in the neck position. Best of all, it comes with the ultimate vintage collector's holy grail—the original owner's paperwork from the date of purchase is completely intact with the guitar, proving it walked out of Stefani’s Music Store in Waukegan, Illinois, on October 1, 1951.

While it was originally introduced as a dependable workhorse, the ES-125 quickly became a secret weapon for legendary musicians spanning decades of rock and blues history. Icons like George Thorogood used the biting roar of the ES-125's P-90 to define his raw, high-energy blues rock. Early blues pioneer B.B. King relied heavily on this exact model in the early 1950s to forge his foundational tones, while modern innovators like Thom Yorke of Radiohead have turned to its unique woody acoustic resonance to track some of their biggest songs.

For the pure guitar facts, this 1951 run features the highly sought-after chunky '50s neck profile that fills out the hand perfectly. The gold top-hat knobs are the original tall cylinder style used only in this specific golden era.  The tuner have been replaced with Kluson Deluxe. The trapeze tailpiece and adjustable rosewood bridge are completely intact, and the factory batch number 7301-9 on the guarantee certificate guarantees its place in Gibson's historic 1951 production run. It is a rare piece of functional history that plays as good as it looks.
