2024 Fender Custom Shop Telecaster - Three tone Sunburst
If you are looking for that Special Telecaster with that WOW factor then you have arrived at the promised land. This beautiful specimen looks like it was bought in the 1960s and stored under a bed. When opening the case to one's surprise you see an amazing Nashville Telecaster with a beautiful patina and natural relic in the finish. The hand-wound Texas Specials have a push/pull tone pot that activates the neck pickup, so you can get all three pickups at once, or bridge and neck for 7 different pickup switching configurations. A very useful upgrade and a lot of fun to use. The HW Texas Specials are twangy and take gain incredibly well and you've got that SRV-ish tone when running into a D style amplifier at will. Lots of tonal variety clean or overdriven. This Guitar ooozes the Vintage Fender vibe. plus.
It's nice and light at 7.4lbs and it's particularly resonant unplugged, translating into a very lively playing experience when plugged in. The fret ends are perfectly treated, and the fretboard edge rolling is super comfortable. You can't help but be impressed with the attention to detail on FCS "Limited" runs like this - they feel like they're a cut above a standard team-built CS Fender.
The neck is a Mother nature's work of art - the 3A Roasted Flamed Maple is probably the best example I've seen on anything from the Fender Custom Shop. The finish on the back of the neck feels absolutely as smooth as a baby's bottom. Paired with a 3A Cites RW 9mm board, it's just a treat all around. The 60's Oval "C" carve is the perfect handful - .79" to .93" up at the 12th, it feels fast but controlled at the lower frets, and feels like a perfect handful up the neck. Mother of Pearl dots and side dots round it all out, and give it a little Nashville flair that clay dot's just don't.
The Vintage 3 Tone Sunburst finish is perfectly sprayed, and the beautiful grain on the Ash body comes through really nicely against it. Double bound in Parchment for that classy Tele Custom look, and with a back that looks just as impressive, especially with the Limited Edition FCS neck plate. A perfectly done Journeyman relic finish rounds it all out - light Nitro checking throughout with some little dings and dents from the factory to make it look like a well-cared-for workhorse.
Comes with the original Limited blue-lined hardshell case and all of the candy. These sold for over $5k new, and this one remains in Excellent to Mint condition.
Free Shipping is only for the Continental US. Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico are not included.
